CAZEAUX-DE-LARBOUST

About
Listed as a Historic Monument.
The 12th-century Church of Sainte-Anne, with a 15th-century fresco. Listed in 1921.
The church is renowned for its collection of frescoes from the late Middle Ages (15th century), characterised by the importance given to the Marian figure.
The church was built in the early 12th century in the style of the "early southern Romanesque", with a nave ending in an apse, very thick walls and a quadrangular bell tower.
The entire building is made of local rubble stone. Only the columns of the bell tower bays and the semi-circular arches above them are in marble.
Inside, the walls and vaults are covered with 15th-century frescoes. A Gallo-Roman cippus is embedded in the wall of the side façade, above the entrance door.
