The “Destination of Excellence” designation
The “Destination d’Excellence” label highlights the quality of tourism offerings , whether in terms of lodging, dining, attractions and recreational activities, tourist information centers (particularly tourist offices), or transportation.
It emphasizes the importance of environmental responsibility.
Our Tourist Office is working toward earning the “Destination of Excellence” certification and aims to support local businesses in their efforts to obtain the same certification.
A tourist office designated as a “Destination of Excellence” operates within an official framework of quality, performance, and environmental responsibility. Our tourist office, Destination Comminges Pyrénées, is currently in the process of obtaining this designation.
What is “Destination of Excellence”?
This is a national certification that is gradually replacing the “Qualité Tourisme” label, under which the Destination Comminges Pyrénées tourist office had already been certified at Category I. It aims to recognize tourism stakeholders who offer a high level of service, hospitality, and commitment.
A tourist office designated as a “Destination of Excellence” must meet strict criteria, including:
- Exceptional customer service (both in-person and online)
- Reliable, clear, and multilingual information
- Accessibility for All Audiences
- Environmental and Sustainability Commitment
- Continuous Improvement of Services
- Good knowledge of and promotion of the region

- Harmonize standards nationwide
A “Destination d’Excellence” tourism office is an organization recognized for its professionalism, the quality of its services, and its commitment to sustainable and effective tourism.
