‘Saint Pierre and Miquelon in winter’
Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon is a French archipelago in North America, situated in the Gulf of St Lawrence to the south of Newfoundland, with a population of 6,000. I was captivated by winter on the island
of Saint-Pierre. This little piece of France stands out from other overseas territories; there are no beaches or coconut palms, but colourful houses dot the entire archipelago.
Saint-Pierre enjoyed its heyday during the cod-fishing era; nowadays, the harbour retains its charm on snowy days.
I’d like to take you on a short tour of the town in February.
