Being a Sea Girl means being a woman in her fifties who performs in music hall. That’s quite a lot to take on… For twenty years they’ve been clenching their bums, cinching their outstretched arms, dancing in ten-centimetre heels, singing even when they’ve just been dumped or had an abortion. Here they want to show it all: the hard work, the awkwardness, the unglamorous side, the self-mockery… Showing what goes on behind the scenes, when the glitter no longer shines, when the doors to the wings swing open.
