About

The two semi-detached houses were where Gustave Flaubert stayed whenever he visited Luchon.

According to Mosnier (op. cit.), the Hôtel des Boulevards is said to have been built in 1868 for two owners, which explains why it is divided into twin houses.

The Hôtel was in fact run by two people: Daunic for the western house and Bonnette for the eastern part (both names appear on the map published by Cicéri in 1872). It was precisely at the Bonnette house that Flaubert and his niece stayed during their visit to Luchon in 1872.
