From mid-September to early October, the males enter the rutting season and let their powerful calls echo through the valleys and forests. This hoarse and impressive call enables them to mark their territory and compete to attract females.

Accompanied by a guide, set off to explore this wild world, listening to the sounds of the forest. With a little patience and discretion, you may spot a stag or a doe, whilst learning about the behaviour and secrets of this iconic species of the Pyrenees.

An authentic nature experience that respects wildlife, best enjoyed at dusk when the mountains come alive and the bellow echoes through the woods.

Tip: wear warm, inconspicuous clothing and suitable walking shoes, and follow the guide’s instructions so as not to disturb the animals.
