Two related but separate events: a ‘Music Workshop’ and an ‘Open Stage & Open Session’

From 6.30 pm to 8.00 pm: Music Workshop

From 8.30 pm to 10.00 pm: Open Stage & Open Session

The ‘MUSICAL WORKSHOP’, running from 6.30 pm to 8.00 pm, is open to all musicians who practise an instrument regularly, regardless of ability or style.

Its aim is to develop a sense of rhythm, harmony and improvisation through playing together. This workshop takes place once a month; it is free of charge, and all you need to take part is an annual membership of the ‘Café Sandaran’ association (€10, payable on the door).

It is led by François Berger, a bassist, composer and arranger.

This ‘music workshop’ usually focuses on one or more pieces that can be performed during an ‘Open Stage & Session’, which takes place after the workshop from 8.00 pm to 10.00 pm.

You can take part in the ‘Open Stage & Session’ without attending the Music Workshop (and vice versa).

The term ‘open’ in the name of this ‘OPEN STAGE & SESSION’ means:

Ø it is open to all musicians who wish to play, whatever their level (no need to be a member of the association);

Ø open to all styles of music – pop, traditional, jazz, French chanson or otherwise, rap, blues, etc.;

Ø open to musicians, of course, but also to anyone who fancies sharing this festive evening at Café Sandaran;

Ø open because the aim of the team organising these evenings is to try and PLAY TOGETHER, with everyone contributing according to their own level, musical experience and style.
