About

The history of the war memorial!

An essential feature of a town’s landscape, the war memorial regularly brings the community together for national tributes. But who are these fallen soldiers we honour? What can we discover and learn about their lives and journeys? This workshop therefore invites you to delve deeper and discover the stories behind these names engraved in stone.

The St-Gaudens branch of the Archives is moving out of its usual premises to meet you on the occasion of the commemoration of the First World War Armistice. This year, it is stopping off in the town of Montréjeau. Its war memorial will be examined in detail. Presented by Isabelle Sourroubille, cultural mediator
