About

Alma Bettencourt has been performing in recital since 2016. In 2018 she won the André Marchal Academy's "L'Orgue des Jeunes" competition. In 2021,

she will take part in the recording of Olivier Messiaen's complete organ works at Toul Cathedral.

Born in 2004, Alma Bettencourt began playing the piano at the age of 5. From 2014, she continued her studies in Elena Rozanova's piano class at the CRR in Paris, and from 2016 in Eric Lebrun's organ class at the CRR in Saint-Maur-des-Fossés, where she obtained her DEM in 2019. Since the start of the 2019/2020 academic year, she has also been a student in Romano Pallottini's piano class at the same institution, where she will obtain her DEM in 2021. Since the start of the 2020/2021 academic year, Alma Bettencourt has been studying organ with Olivier Latry and Thomas Ospital at the CNSMDP, and piano with Emmanuel Strosser since September 2022.

She has been performing in recital since 2016. In 2018 she won the "L'Orgue des Jeunes" competition organised by the Académie André Marchal. In 2021, Alma Bettencourt will take part in the recording of Olivier Messiaen's complete organ works at Toul Cathedral, and as a performer in the Saint-Sulpice composition competition.

Alma Bettencourt is pursuing her dual career as a piano concert pianist and organist. This young keyboard prodigy, who has just been the subject of numerous articles, including a full-page spread in Le Figaro on 9 May, has just been appointed organist-in-residence at Radio France! She succeeds Lucile Dollat, Karol Mossakowski and her own organ teacher Thomas Ospital.
