EXPOSITION : « LA FORME DES LIEUX » FERNANDA SÁNCHEZ-PAREDES

The exhibition “La forme des lieux” features thirty-five photographs taken by the artist between 2010 and 2025.

Following its inaugural exhibition dedicated to the large-format works from Jean Dieuzaide’s studio, LieuZaide is opening its doors to the photographer Fernanda Sánchez-Paredes, who was born in 1980 in Mexico City and holds a Master’s degree in photography from the National University of Mexico.

After seven years working in the Mexican film archives alongside the photographer Gabriel Figueroa, she joined the École des Arts Décoratifs in Paris, dividing her time between France and Mexico for several years.

Now living in Béarn, she has been teaching at the École supérieure d’art et de design des Pyrénées (ESAD-Pau) since 2022. She is also a member of the Nouvelle-Aquitaine Artists’ Documents Network.

With a body of work comprising long-term series, driven by creative residencies and public commissions, Fernanda practises a form of photography centred on the transformation of territories, primarily exploring architecture and the representation of landscape. Her interest also extends to the outskirts and modern infrastructure such as building sites, as well as the mountainous regions of the Hautes-Pyrénées. Deeply drawn to architecture, she is intrigued by exhibition spaces and their visitors, as well as the relationships between objects, time and space.
