A key figure in the reconstruction of Notre-Dame de Paris, General Jean-Louis Georgelin, originally from Aspétos, chairs the public body responsible for the conservation and restoration of the cathedral. He oversees the progress of the procedures and works to be undertaken and has become the linchpin of this extraordinary project.

A General of the Army, he served as Chief of the President’s Private Staff from 2002 to 2006, Chief of the Defence Staff from 2006 to 2010, and then Grand Chancellor of the Legion of Honour from 2010 to 2016.

He enjoyed returning to the Comminges region and retained a particular fondness for the Pyrenees, where he lost his life in a hiking accident in 2023. This screening is also a way of paying tribute to this exceptional man.
