Film screening and discussion
Screening of the documentary ‘Les esprits libres’ by Bertrand Hagenmüller
15 October from 3.00 pm to 4.30 pm, followed by a discussion with a doctor and a carer.
Set within a specialist care home, the documentary follows an extraordinary artistic endeavour: men and women living with Alzheimer’s disease or related conditions engage in a creative process guided by artists. Far from the usual clinical perspective, the camera gently captures the spark that remains. We discover that whilst words may be lost and memories may grow hazy, sensitivity, humour and emotion remain intact. Through painting, theatre or music, these ‘free spirits’ break free from the constraints of the disease to reclaim their place in the world.
Halle de l’Isle-en-Dodon, Children’s Literature Festival
Saturday 17 October
Organised by the FE.RU.E association (Festival Rural et Engagé de Littérature Jeunesse), this unmissable event celebrates the joy of reading and creativity in all its forms. Designed for children, teenagers and families, the festival takes over the Halle de l’Isle-en-Dodon for a day packed with discoveries and shared experiences. Promoting access to culture in rural areas, fostering the imagination of the youngest visitors and building social connections through books and artistic creation.
The Media Centre offers workshops and opens its doors for readings and opportunities for discussion.
The Toy Library places books at the heart of play through fun and interactive activities.
The MJC-EVC contributes to the site’s welcoming atmosphere by providing spaces for socialising and relaxation.
