TRANSHUMANCE DE L’ESCALETTE

Organised by sheep farmers and numerous volunteers.

An authentic and friendly event, with grills on the Escalette plateau on arrival, and veal on the spit with Pyrenean songs in the evening.

2 Departures: (definitive programme to follow)

– at 8am from Boutx: blessing of the herd and approximately 3-hour walk with 800m of ascent.

– at 11am at the Col de Mente: 45-minute walk with 200m ascent.

Lunch: Grilled lamb or merguez – bread, cheese and wine.

Evening meal : Veal on the spit with Cap o Mourtis under a marquee.

Musical entertainment.
