Fall Running

Joggers in Saint-Gaudens will tell you that this is THE running route to do if you’re in Saint-Gaudens! It’s great for running in any season, but fall gives it a special, gentle atmosphere.

Natural light to boost your mood!

The colorful trees, the blue sky, the mountains in the distance, and beneath my feet a carpet of golden and red leaves that crunch with every step—I love this fall atmosphere. The light is soft, and the temperatures are cooler. The warm-up on the boulevard is ideal—a flat, safe path that’s a kilometer and a half long. This is where locals take their daily stroll; people come here to wander as the seasons change!

Let’s go trail running!

Through the trees, the descent to the lake follows a dirt path. This urban route combines city streets and trails with elevation changes. Starting from downtown, you can enjoy this green getaway all the way to Lake Sède. Around the lake, the atmosphere is different—peaceful. The green hues of the lake suddenly blend with the Pyrenees mountain range.
Some runners extend the route to the village of Valentine and the “Bout du Puys” (passing behind the lake via the GR trail).

Elevation Gain

Along the route, both climbs really test your endurance! At the Chapelle de la Caoue, the climb is steep and leads directly into a trail through a grove of trees that continues uphill. This route is varied and offers ever-changing scenery.
