About

Would you like to get away from it all? Are you looking for a beautiful holiday home in a magnificent part of the French Pyrenees, in a peaceful and tranquil location, still untouched by mass tourism, where you can relax and recharge your batteries? Have you always dreamed of riding the famous cols of the Tour de France, the ultimate challenge for any cyclist? Do you love nature, wildlife, walking, stargazing or birdwatching?

We can offer you all this and much more, so come and stay at Le Fournil, our beautifully restored, self-catering cottage, which can comfortably sleep 2-4 people. This spacious 2 bedroom holiday home offers all modern conveniences (including free WiFi), the original features have been retained as much as possible, with exposed beams in the upstairs bedrooms and the old bread oven still in place in the living room.

Le Fournil was once the bakery and granary of the main house Le Couloumé, a traditional French farmhouse built around 1850, set in over a hectare of land on a south-facing slope in a dominant position in Loudet, a small rural village in the Haute Garonne department.

We enjoy magnificent, uninterrupted views across the valley to the Pyrenees – we can see the mountains of three different departments, the peaks of the Ariège to the east, the Haute Garonne to the south and the Hautes Pyrénées with the Pic du Midi to the west. Even some of the Spanish peaks are visible from the gîte, including the highest peak in the Pyrenees, the Pic d'Aneto, 3404m.

Geographically, we are in the central Pyrenees, almost equidistant between the Atlantic and Mediterranean coasts, ideally situated for exploring this wonderful region. Nestled in a privileged position, we have access to some of the most beautiful scenery France has to offer.

When the sightseeing and outdoor activities are over for the day, you can relax in our tranquil surroundings on the large sun terrace by the pool, or simply cool off with a drink on your private covered patio enjoying the stunning mountain views. Tourist tax included.

Private swimming pool for gîte guests.

New - The Tastes & Flavors Guide

While eating well without breaking the bank is a major concern for our fellow citizens, short supply chains are thriving in Comminges. Now more than ever, there has been a growing need for a guide that lists producers, restaurateurs, and food professionals who sell their creations directly to consumers and work with local products in an ethical manner.

From Farm to Table with Complete Transparency: The Charter

The Charter of Commitment was developed by and for professionals in partnership with the Comminges-Pyrénées Tourism Office. It highlights producers from all fields and chefs who work according to best practices, promote Comminges products, and share their respective expertise.

The guide “Goûts et Saveurs en Comminges” is not just a directory of businesses. It is much more than that. As you turn the pages, you’ll also find recipes, profiles, and interviews.
