The Portillon refuge, located near the lake of the same name, is the ideal place for high-mountain enthusiasts. The 4? hour ascent takes you through all the mountain levels on an old mule track that is well marked and paved in places, with stops at the Lac d'Oô refuge and then the Espingo refuge.
First-time hikers will discover the mountain atmosphere in a warm and comfortable setting.
Hikers and experienced mountaineers will appreciate its position as a base camp in the heart of a cirque of 12 peaks over 3000m high. Mountaineers have a vast choice of ridges and granite faces to choose from.
