Lac Supérieur is at an altitude of 2248 m and has a surface area of 9.6 hectares.

These lakes are located in the Natura 2000 area of the Haute Vallée de la Pique, classified as a Special Area of Conservation in 2007 covering an area of 8,251 hectares.
