CHAPELLE NOTRE DAME

Perched on a mound overlooking the hamlet of Le Barry, Notre-Dame Chapel is one of the two visible remains of the former château of Sauveterre-de-Comminges, once a major strategic point in the valley. The Tour du Barry is the second vestige.

The Notre-Dame chapel is sometimes called "Notre-Dame du Château".

This modest but historic building, built on the foundations of the old medieval castle, bears witness to the commune's religious and seigniorial past. The chapel offers a magnificent panoramic view over the Garonne valley.
