About
Listed as a partially protected Historic Monument.
17th-century château, listed in 1977. Protected features: façades and roofs of the château and chapel, fireplaces on the ground floor and fireplaces on the first and second floors, staircases.
This three-storey castle is built on an L-shaped plan flanked by three square towers at each of the three corners. The small main courtyard features two pink and white marble chequered turrets.
The interior features a staircase with straight banisters and pink marble balusters. On the west side of the château is a 17th-century chapel. The building was constructed by Jean-Louis de Binos, Seigneur de Signan, a man-at-arms, who retired towards the end of his life to his house in Guran and died there in 1659.
This was the site of a feudal castle, the fief of Guran belonging to the county of Comminge.
