About

Listed as a Historic Monument.

The 15th-century Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Romanesque bell tower, extended during the Gothic period. Listed in 1977.

The building that dominates the village and surrounds the cemetery is built in the Gothic style. It bears witness to the economic and architectural revival that affected this mountain region at the time.

However, the Romanesque bell tower-wall, with its sharp, canted spire, bears witness to the fact that an earlier building was already in place before a reconstruction and extension campaign was launched.

The church is polygonal in plan, with a two-bay nave and a side chapel. Of particular note are the semi-circular tympanum of the entrance door, the ogival doorway leading to the bell tower staircase and the beautifully sculpted lamp arches.

Protected as a historic monument, this village church is also home to a number of listed objects: a statue of Christ on the Cross, a chasuble and a stole (liturgical vestments) and an unusual clockwork mechanism.

New - The Tastes & Flavors Guide

While eating well without breaking the bank is a major concern for our fellow citizens, short supply chains are thriving in Comminges. Now more than ever, there has been a growing need for a guide that lists producers, restaurateurs, and food professionals who sell their creations directly to consumers and work with local products in an ethical manner.

From Farm to Table with Complete Transparency: The Charter

The Charter of Commitment was developed by and for professionals in partnership with the Comminges-Pyrénées Tourism Office. It highlights producers from all fields and chefs who work according to best practices, promote Comminges products, and share their respective expertise.

The guide “Goûts et Saveurs en Comminges” is not just a directory of businesses. It is much more than that. As you turn the pages, you’ll also find recipes, profiles, and interviews.
