About

Situated in the heart of the village, the church of Saint-Bertrand de Seilhan is a remarkable building.

Built in 1848 with the support of Baron de Lassus, it is topped by an original semi-octagonal bell tower, topped by a terrace, which gives it a distinctive silhouette in the local landscape. Inside, the church houses a superb 19th-century altarpiece depicting Saint-Bertrand in adoration before the Virgin and Child, with Saint-Bertrand-de-Comminges cathedral in the background. The altarpiece is richly decorated and adorned with a number of liturgical objects listed as Historic Monuments, including a painting, a chasuble, a cope and a marble baptistery.
