About
Meditative Indian songs to mark Shiva Ratri (the festival of Shiva), followed by halava and tchai (Indian pastries and a hot drink).
Bhajans (pronounced badjane) are mantra chants taken from sacred Indian texts. Sung in a group and accompanied by musical instruments, they have the effect of calming the mind and generating infectious joy.
Performer : Vincent Comiti: Singing, mridanga (percussion) and Indian harmonium.
Admission: Free admission
All ticket sales will be donated to a charity in India.
Registration (essential as places are limited).
The evening ends with a tasting of halava and tchai (Indian pastry and hot spiced drink).
If you wish, you can bring your own cushion or zafu: we will be seated on the floor (chairs will of course be available for those unable to sit cross-legged).
