A journey through the Pyrenees in song, from the Basque Country to Catalonia, passing through Béarn, Comminges, the Val d’Aran, Ariège and Aude, ending on the slopes of Canigou and the Albères. Recounting, with a touch of nostalgia, ‘the days of yore’ that marked the passing of the seasons, at the edge of the woods or by the fireside. The blue flight of wood pigeons over a mist-shrouded mountain pass, walks to the shepherd’s hut, the tragic Retirada that still tugs at the hearts of Catalans, or the rides of the Cathar knights, whose banners still seem to flutter in the wind on gusty days. ‘The Pyrenees, land of refuge; the Pyrenees, land of exile.’ Covers and original compositions in the ‘Patois’ of each region we pass through. Bringing old songs back to life (such as ‘Beth Cèu de Pau’ or ‘Se Canto…’) hummed by the elders, and telling the story of time passing.
