‘Let’s Dance Beneath the Vaults’ offers an auditory journey: the rare combination of the mandolin and the organ in a programme inspired by dance.

Two instruments that appear to be polar opposites — one intimate, percussive and luminous; the other monumental, orchestral and enveloping — come together here in a single breath. Through a wide-ranging selection of works from Bach to Villa-Lobos, the mandolin takes on the roles, in turn, of an operatic voice, a folk guitar or a Baroque violin; the organ, a symphony orchestra, a continuo or a chamber music partner.
