About

Longue-vue looks at the transformation of landscapes in the light of new artistic and ecological gestures. The better to contemplate, create and share together.

A spyglass invites you to take a journey at your fingertips. To look around you, to reach what you can barely see, what you don't know or what you really want to discover. Taking the time to look around and travelling at the right pace. But what would be the ideal route and the dream location? To reach the neighbouring shore, the Pyrenees or even the moon on foot, by canoe or by aircraft? Everyone has their own telescope for visiting and rediscovering sites that are close by, known or unknown.

Longue-vue invites you to take this other journey: invite three artists to create a landscape together by intertwining their creations. In other words, to create a garden of works, both outside (Laréole) and inside (Les Olivétains).

The exhibition allows for this journey and a certain ubiquity. Being here and there. Bringing together two places with the works of three artists also means bringing us together to multiply our points of view, to exchange and connect.

Schedule

Yannis Belatach explores the shared history of transformation, that of natural and human landscapes. His drawings, paintings and installations interweave and question the subterranean movement of a cave, the industrial activity of a quarry and the gestures of an artist in his studio.

Catherine Branger combines two forms of painting. She creates optical landscapes and studio scenes. In the former, the lines and colours play with the limits of space and the boundaries between painting, sculpture and architecture. With the latter, we discover the pleasure of doing, the freedom to invent a gesture.

Christian Durante’s installations combine the time he spends walking and meeting people. Each place, plant, object and glance collected forms a new constellation of witnesses. The artist-archivist does not preserve time, but liberates stories, their tumult, their gentleness and their fragility.
