2026 has been designated the ‘International Year of Transhumance and Pastoral Herders’. To mark the occasion, the Archives branch is offering a programme celebrating shepherds and their livestock, transhumance, pasture management, and the traditions and expertise of our region!

As part of the programme of events centred on transhumance and pastoralism, come and discover a selection of archive material from the Comminges branch’s collection on transhumance and pastoralism. The exhibition will be complemented by objects on loan from the Cagire Pyrénées Ecomuseum in Estadens (bells, necklaces, etc.). Volunteers from the Ecomuseum will be on hand to chat with visitors.
