About

Come and discover or rediscover ikebana, the traditional Japanese art of flower arranging. This two-day introductory course will be led by Bernadette Jin Do Turpin, a Zen nun from the Sangha sans demeure and a graduate of the Ohara School.

Japanese floral art, ikebana, is the art of arranging flowers, of bringing them to life, but also of living through and for the flowers.

The spring-blooming branch, the roadside grasses, and the bare, moss-covered branch of winter allow us to express the beauty of nature and our deep connection with this fleeting yet ever-renewing world.

Through calm, observation and concentration, we are fully present in the moment with that flower, that branch, which brings harmony and balance to our floral arrangement.

The equipment (flower stems and vase) will be provided for the duration of the workshop.

Please bring secateurs, a packed lunch, a small towel and a container to take your flowers home in.
