Listed as a Historic Monument.
The upper town, at the top of the hill, is surrounded by a defensive wall with three gates, at least part of which dates from the Gallo-Roman period.
The wall consists of three sections. The lower section features an irregular dry-stone wall resting directly on the rock. Above this, there is masonry of perfectly squared rubble stones, laid in courses parallel to the natural slope of the ground.
Finally, the topmost level consists of rubble masonry of less regularly cut stones mixed with rounded pebbles. The middle section dates from the Gallo-Roman period.
Rectangular drainage channels run through the lower section.
In places, this masonry is replaced by panels featuring courses of brick regularly interspersed with four courses of rubble stone.
These panels represent either repairs following a siege, or the restoration of defences after a long period of peace.
