Survey campaigns carried out in 1989 and 1990 revealed a rectangular stone-built enclosure with towers, gates, a ‘vallum’ and a ditch, the distinctive features of which allow it to be identified as one of the many military structures scattered along the borders of the Rhine and the Danube.

With its enclosure, the walls of which have been preserved, this camp ranks among the best-preserved military structures in Europe.
