A programme to suit all tastes and all ages!
Friday 18 September:
At the Place d’Armes, the media library and the “Livres en voix” group will be reading aloud extracts from “Chère enfance” by Louis Carsalade, a local author.
A treasure hunt called “Levez les yeux” (Look Up) will be available from Friday, allowing you to discover facts and anecdotes about the town with family or friends…
Saturday 19 September:
From 10.00 am to 6.00 pm: The Wheelwright and Sewing Machine Museum is open; Jean-François Coutens will talk about the wheelwright’s trade and his collection of vintage sewing machines. A heritage to discover or rediscover – there’s always something new to see!
From 10.00 am to 5.00 pm: In the covered market hall: two exhibitions marking 200 years of photography.
From 10.00 am to 12.00 pm: a guided tour of the church led by Mr René Hon, a member of the associations ‘Les Amis des Orgues’ and ‘L’Isle Patrimoine’.
At the same time, from 10.00 am to 12.30 pm: self-guided tour of René Gaston-Lagorre’s paintings at the Town Hall in the council chamber; a QR code will be available for further information
From 11.00 am until 12.30 pm in front of the tourist office: book signings by local authors, attended by the Confrérie du veau fermier commingeois, who have prepared a surprise. To mark the occasion, the local restaurants “Le Comptoir”, “Le Maquis” and “Jeanne La Fermière” will be featuring veal on their daily menus.
3.00 pm – 5.00 pm: a tour of the town led by André Tandou, president of the L’Isle Patrimoine association, who will recount the history of L’Isle-en-Dodon and its development from the 19th century to the present day.
5.00 pm: Screening at the cinema of documentary films by Michel Saint-Raymond on traditional threshing and the pig-slaughtering festival.
Sunday 20 September:
